April 5, 2012 Meeting Minutes of the Conservation Commission of Weathersfield, Vt.
1. Mtgs of the Con Com shall be on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00pm. During the Summer months, meetings will be at the Weathersfield Center Church. Beginning in January, after the church is closed for the Winter, meetings shall be held at the Proctor Library in Ascutney until further notice.
The next, May 3rd, meeting will be held at the Center Church.
Members present: new member Roy Burton;Gary Pelton, Chairperson; Chris Harris, Vice Chairperson; Tina Wood, Treasurer; and George Ainley, Secretary. Prospective member Harry Temple was present. John Broker-Campbell and Mary Beth Reville are no longer members.
Mtg called to order at 7:08 pm
March meeting minutes were accepted.
April 22: amphibian and vernal pool workshop Tina will ascertain availability of church for this date and notify local newspapers. Some members will bring refreshments. There will be an indoor presentation and a visit to the pool in back of the Center Church
Other upcoming conservation calendar events proposed:
May 5: Coordinate invasive species education with Greenup Day. Focus on Garlic Mustard
June: Garlic Mustard Pulling Day
July: Purple Loosestrife pulling
August: Invasive species workshop
October: Con Com sponsored walk on the Weathersfield Conservation Area property.
Agenda for May 3rd mtg: prepare for invasive plant information on Green-up Day, and prepare for garlic-mustard removal day to be held in June.
