November 4, 2011 Meeting Minutes of the Conservation Commission of Weathersfield, Vt. 1. Mtgs of the Con Com shall be on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00pm. During the Summer months, meetings will be at the Weathersfield Center Church. Beginning in January, after the church is closed for the Winter, meetings shall be held at the Proctor Library in Ascutney until further notice. Members present: Gary Pelton, Chairperson; Chris Harris, Vice Chairperson; Tina Wood, Treasurer; George Ainley, Secretary; and de Forest Bearse, Zoning Administrator. Members absent: John Broker-Campbell and Mary Beth Reville Mtg called to order at 7:00 pm October minutes were accepted. Chris Harris reported on his site visit to the Bickford property on route 106 near the shooting range. He determined that the proposed garage would have no further significant impact on the nearby deer wintering area. Conservatiuon Calendar proposed: January: Workshop on tracking February: Con Com sponsored snowshoe walk on the Weathersfield Conservation Area property. March, mid to late: amphibian road crossing watch April, late: vernal pool workshop May, early: Coordinate invasive species education with Greenup Day. Focus on Garlic Mustard May, late: Con Com sponsored walk on the Weathersfield Conservation Area property. June: Garlic Mustard Pulling Day July: Purple Loosestrife pulling August: Invasive species workshop October: Con Com sponsored walk on the Weathersfield Conservation Area property. Fund Raising: Tina noted that sponsoring a speaker would be a good way to raise money. Linking Land Alliance: Gary to invite Karen Douville to present info at the next meeting. deforest suggested a brochure rack near her office door for Con Com related info. Tina will investigate prices for such a rack. Budget: $300 until June of 2011 Manafort subdivision: Public Hearing ("Filly Farm" at Gravelin and Beaver Pond Rds.) Chris will attend. Velco proposed electric substation (in area between Tenny Hill and the Neil Daniels property on Rt. 5) deforest will call the State Archeologist to inquire about possible impact on the Native American site there.
