Weathersfield Veterans Memorial Committee Meeting September 29, 2009 Meeting Minutes Members Present:        Chip Cobb        Bob Dickenson  Jeff Slade Edith Stillson  Lisa Sargent            deForest Bearse 1.      Minutes of August 25, 2009 Edith Stillson motioned to accept the minutes of August 25, 2009 as presented.  Jeff Slade seconded the motion and all were in favor. 2.      Update of the HUD Application The Committee's request for the release of funds from HUD was submitted to the VT Department of Buildings and Grounds within the time frame requested by Chairman Cobb.  A request was made by the reviewing agency for a single-page summary of the project.  The request was being handled by the Town Manage at the time of the meeting. 3.      Fund Raising The chicken barbecue is scheduled for October 10th.  All plans are in place.  Whatever necessary items are not received as donations will be purchased from the profits.  Based on conversations Lisa has had with DAV, it appears unlikely that a DAV van and personnel will be present at the event. 4.      Memorial Logistics Bob Dickenson and Aaron Fitzherbert have been working together to obtain quotes for stone cutting in Barre.  They will continue to seek the best price for the project. Aaron and Dan Barbour have met to discuss the project and to view the stones at the McDerment quarry.  Dan is willing to help get the stones off the property and may also have additional stones to offer.  Chip will contact Aaron to get a final determination of which stones will be used and a time frame for their removal. 5.      Other Business None. 6.      Public Comments None. 7.      Adjournment Jeff Slade motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:45 PM.  Lisa Sargent seconded the motion and all were in favor.
