Disposal Fees In Effect July 1st, 2004
Increased solid waste disposal fees represent increased disposal costs for materials collected at Weathersfield's solid waste management facility.
Weathersfield currently operates their solid waste disposal facility as a self-supporting utility, funded solely by an annual user charge and 'pay as you throw' fees.
The annual user charge included on property tax bills, has been set at $45.00 for the upcoming fiscal year.
It was also necessary to increase disposal fees for the next year - to $1.50 per "punch." Effective July 1st, "10 punch" disposal cards will cost $15.00, and "5 punch" cards will cost $7.50.
The Select Board, with the assistance of the Budget Committee, also established for the first time a complete schedule of disposal fees for the wide variety of items that are collected at the Solid Waste Management Facility.
