Town of Weathersfield, Vermont Notice of Public Hearing Pursuant to the requirements of Title 19, Chapter 7, of the Vermont Statutes Annotated, the Select Board for the Town of Weathersfield, Vermont, will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, starting at 7:00 o'clock, P.M., at the Weathersfield Town Office at 5259 US Route 5 in Ascutney, Vermont, for the following purposes:
(A) reclassifying the Crown Point Road from a Class 4 town highway to a Trail; and (B) reclassifying a portion of Drumlin Road from Class 4 to Class 3.
The hearing will be preceded with visits to the site of each roadway as follows: (A) Drumlin Road: On May 14, 2011at 1:00PM at the junction of Drumlin Road & Maple Street (B) Crown Point Road: Segment "A" On May 14, 2011 at 2:00PM at a point ½ mile from the Weathersfield/Cavendish town line on Tarbell Hill Road; Segment "B" On May 14, 2011 at 4:00PM (estimated time) at the southern end of Branch Brook Road; Segment "C" On May 14, 2011 at 5:00PM (estimated time) at the junction of Plains Road and the access road to the Grout Cemetery; Segment "D" On May 21, 2011 at 9:00AM at the southern end of the Crown Point Road on the Springfield/Weathersfield town line; examiners will meet in the parking lot of the Crown Point Country Club. The two highways are briefly described as follows:
Drumlin Road (TH 119) Starting at the intersection of Drumlin Road (TH 119) and Maple Street (TH 25) and proceeding southeasterly for a distance of approximately 1,000 feet as described in Rapanotti survey project no. 04-594 dated Sept. 8, 2004; The document relinquishing said roadway to the Town is recorded in Book 107, Pages 281 and 282, of the Land Records of the Town of Weathersfield.
Crown Point Road Segment "A" (TH 117) Starting at a point on the Cavendish town line south of Tarbell Hill Road (TH 32) on the property of Richard Hardy and proceeding due east through lands of Lawrence and Ruth Moore to where it intersects with VT Route 106 as laid out in Volume 2, page 88 of the Town Proceedings; Segment "B"(TH 82) Starting at the southern end of Branch Brook Road (TH 82) and proceeding southeasterly through land owned by the US Army Corps of Engineers till it intersects with Branch Brook as laid out in Volume 1, page 20 of the Town Proceedings; Segment "C" (TH 82) Starting at the intersection of Plains Road and the access road to the Grout Cemetery and proceeding in a northwesterly direction past the Grout Cemetery, through the Plain Cemetery, through lands of Sarah Russo and the US Army Corps of Engineers till it intersects the Branch Brook as laid out in Volume 1, page 20 of the Town Proceedings. Segment "D"(TH 118 and portion of TH 112) Starting at a point on the Springfield Town Line and proceeding northerly through lands of the Crown Point Country Club, Roy Mark, Wellwood Orchard and Willis Wood; thence northwesterly through other lands of Wellwood Orchard, CVPS, Dolobowsky, Leever, Federov, LaCasse, and Atkins/Kapinos till it intersects with Reservoir Road as laid out in Volume 2, page 95 and Volume 1, page 20 of the Town Proceedings.
Persons wishing to review the documents pertaining to this proposal may do so at the Weathersfield Town Offices, in Ascutney.
Persons wishing to comment or give evidence regarding the proposal may do so in person during the hearing, or by filing their comments, in writing, prior to the hearing.
This hearing is before the Town of Weathersfield Select Board at the above time and place.
