"The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional as to how they perceive veterans of earlier wars were treated by their nation." George Washington

The Weathersfield Veterans Memorial Committee recognizes Bev Howe, her father, and grandfather who have for decades quietly and selflessly been placing US flags on known graves of past military members buried in Weathersfield. Now, she carries on with this tremendous and heartfelt act to honor our deceased military members. The Weathersfield Veterans Memorial Committee plans to help her. Under her direction and during the days before Memorial Day, the Committee will join Bev in placing US flags on veterans graves in our town.

The Committee will also be hosting a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial monument on the green in Perkinsville on Memorial Day. The public is invited to join us in laying a wreath at the monument and sharing a few words of remembrance.
