American Rescue Plan Act: Public Input Sessions in February 2022

ARPA

The American Rescue Plan Act is a stimulus package signed into law on March 11, 2021. The purpose of this package is to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, including health and economic impacts. Cities & Towns across the country received ARPA funds that can be used for this purpose. Weathersfield will receive all of its share of ARPA funds by September 2022.

The Selectboard is expected to finish the budget process by the 2nd meeting in January. At the first meeting in February we will begin to have discussions about how the ARPA funds can be used to benefit the Town. Residents are encouraged to participate. It is likely to take several meetings to gather information and move forward with a plan of action. Expenditure categories are as follows: Public Health, Negative Economic Impacts, Services to Disproportionately Impacted Communities, Premium Pay, Infrastructure, Revenue Replacement, and Admirative expenses. These categories were released through the US Department of Treasury and can be found by visiting this link.

The Selectboard will also be considering Small Business Grants to businesses in Weathersfield that have been effected by COVID-19.
