The Select board Chair developed an exit questionnaire for residents to complete on voting day, November 8th, 2022.

The following questions were asked & answered: 

  1. The Legislature in California voted to ban gasoline powered vehicles. Do you support this for the State of Vermont?
    • Yes - 0

  2. Several States have either reduced or eliminated cash bail. When cash bail is eliminated, persons arrested are able to be released from jail prior to arraignment. In many instances this leads to repeat offenses. Do you support the elimination of cash bail in Vermont?

  3. Last year the Legislature voted to continue mass mail-in ballots. Should the State of Vermont continue to mail ballots in this manner?

  4. Do you support Marijuana dispensary businesses in the Town of Weathersfield?

  5. Several years ago, the Selectboard voted to create a Municipal Fire Department. This would require the hiring of a Municipal Fire Chief. The actual cost is uncertain, however, more than likely the Municipal Fire Chief total cost of employment would be six figures. Should the Town of Weathersfield move forward to complete this transition?

  6. Last year the governor vetoed the Clean Heat Standard Bill that would have resulted in an unknown tax burden on greenhouse gas emissions. It was for this reason that the Governor vetoed the bill. Should the Legislature move forward with any bill that further increases taxes or fees on heating fuels?

  7. Do you like the Fish Tanks at Martin Memorial Hall? They are currently maintained and supported by volunteers & non-taxpayer funds. However, the electricity is paid for in the General Fund.
